Sales Engineer (US based)

US Sales Team member – initial focus on Eastern US. Frequent travel is required (post COVID)

Responsibilities:

  • Focus on developing and maintaining relationships with owners and engineering firms in a specific market sector (one of Water or Mining), primarily in Western US

Field Service Specialist

As a Field Service Specialist, reporting to our Service Manager in Vancouver (Canada), you will have lead responsibilities within the RST Service division to support primarily Western Hemisphere Region projects and occasionally worldwide. You will provide unparalleled support to our customers both on-site and remotely. As a key member of this team, you are Customer Focused, Team Oriented, Organized, Detail Oriented, Technically Competent, and a Self-Starter. This role has travel requirements of up to 75%. The Field Service Specialist is responsible for the technical quality and accuracy of geotechnical and civil instrument installations, troubleshooting and decommissioning as well as training of customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide assistance to our customers to resolve geotechnical instrument issues.
  • Perform, provide assistance and supervise installation & troubleshooting of geotechnical instrument such as: piezometers, extensometers, inclinometers, load cells, cable trenches,
  • Carry out data checks, data reductions, data interpretations, and troubleshooting of data from various geotechnical and civil
  • Travel to site to perform or remotely coordinate third party and customer activities:

– Install, configure and service data logging and networking equipment.

– Supervise and/or install geotechnical instruments and sensors.

– Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning and/or damaged systems.

  • Manage high volume of tickets, remotely troubleshoot customer issues and proactively identify field visit requirement.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Civil/Electrical/Electronics/Mining/Geotechnical Engineering degree, from an accredited institution. Other technical-related certifications with a mix of experience will be considered.

Technical Support Specialist (UK based)

As a Technical Support Specialist, your primary responsibility is to provide prompt technical support for all RST Instruments products. As a key member of our team in the UK you are Customer Focused, Detail Oriented, Organized, Entrepreneurial, Technically Competent and a Self-Starter. From time-to-time you will also be required to travel to customer’s sites for Field Service work that includes but not limited to: supervising equipment installation, some actual installation, commissioning, troubleshooting and maintenance.

Responsibilities:

  • Respond to Customer emails and phone calls pertaining to technical support for all RST Instruments supplied geotechnical instruments.
  • Liaise directly with customers, trouble shoot and provide  resolutions to their technical problems in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain continual communication with management and work cohesively with sales, production, engineering and quality team members across the organization.
  • Conduct pre-installation testing of geotechnical instruments and instrumentation equipment.

  • Install, configure and service datalogger equipment and network infrastructure.

  • Travel to customer sites to:

Qualifications and Skills

  • B.Eng in either Geotechnical, Electronic, Electrical, Mining, Civil from an accredited EU Institution or International Equivalent.
  • P.Eng/EIT or eligible to register with EGBC is an assest.
  • 3 years of experience in instrumentation, telemetry, electronics, communications, or other similar disciplines.
  • 1-3 years experience with geotechnical and civil instrumentation, including piezometers, extensometers, inclinometers, load cells, dataloggers, etc.
  • Electronics, programming and networking experience will be a major assest.

Junior Civil/Geotechnical/Mining Instrumentation Technologist

Undertake daily monitoring and maintenance activities of geotechnical instrumentation in an active civil-earthworks construction project. This position requires an individual who is capable of work in the field with minimal supervision, and reports to the Technical Manager and Project Manager.

Preference will be given to candidates local to the Fort St. John area. Local candidates may choose to live at home during their scheduled site days. A more flexible Monday-Friday schedule may also be considered for the right person.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out manual readings of geotechnical instruments (Inclinometers, Vibrating Wire Piezometer, Extensometers, Thermistors, etc.)
  • Perform data checks, data reductions, and troubleshooting of data from various geotechnical instruments.
  • Assist with construction activities such as cable trenches, fill material placement around cables, survey marker installation, decommissioning of geotechnical instrumentation, monitoring earthworks excavation, etc.
  • Monitor and ensure the proper function of geotechnical instrumentation. Tasks may include but are not limited to: battery changes, cable splicing, winterization, and other miscellaneous maintenance as it may arise (ex. water removal from inclinometer casing, relocation of instrument masts and dataloggers, raise of inclinometer casing and piezometer pipe, etc.)
  • Field troubleshooting of downhole geotechnical instrumentation and surface equipment (ex. dataloggers, radio network repeater stations, instrument radio masts)
  • Program, install, and download information from dataloggers.
  • Assist with the preparation of engineering documentation of completed work, including shift reports, commissioning records, and as-built drawings.
  • Assist the Project Engineer with on-site coordination and reporting.

Working Conditions:

  • Located in Northern BC/AB border – Outdoor work, including hot summer and cold winter weather
  • 8 to 12-hour work shifts – overtime (beyond 12 hours) may be required on occasion

Assembler Pipe Technician

Our Pipe Technicians are responsible for manufacturing PVC or ABS casing, and accessories. Your duties include production, quality control, packaging, and workplace maintenance. You will be producing quality parts while developing a strong and positive production team. You will be expected to contribute ideas/input towards the growth of the company. You will coordinate with other members of the team to fulfill orders in a timely manner and will organize material and orders to increase efficiency within the department.

Responsibilities:

  • Operating CNC lathes, and custom machinery to produce casing/accessories
  • Manually assembly of products or sub-items
  • Physical inventory and stock counting
  • Producing quality parts
  • Contribute ideas/input towards the growth of the company

Material Handler

As our Material Handler, you will join a team of dedicated individuals within our manufacturing operation.   You will work closely with team members to ensure all warehouse/inventory activities are completed on time and to the highest quality standards. You are knowledgeable in Process Improvement and Inventory Control. Your work habits emphasize safety for yourself and your co-workers. You will also provide support to other roles within the warehouse as required. This position may also require overtime as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Supply materials for production work orders at work centers by locating, pulling and verification of materials and supplies listed on production work orders.
  • Maintain inventory by identifying, labelling, and placing materials and supplies in stock, recording the location of inventory.
  • Maintain in-process inventory at work centers: tracks down lost or missing products.
  • Complete inventory counts and organizes bin locations as assigned.
  • Prepares finished goods for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-shift inspections.
  • Keeps the warehouse and production work areas organized and tidy and implement general housekeeping practices to maintain workplace cleanliness.

Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Specialist

Responsibilities:

  • Review and ensure change orders adhere to company processes and standards

Technical Writer (Full Time)

As the Technical Writer on the Product Management Team, you will draft and deliver all documentation for internal and external customers. We are looking to build out our team by adding an outstanding communicator, adept at building and delivering powerful content that supports our mission to provide an exceptional customer experience. Our internal customers include Marketing, Sales and Customer Support. Responsibilities:

  • Conduct discovery sessions, integrating technical and non-technical information from different teams.
  • Build end-user documentation for the purposes of installation, setup, configuration and troubleshooting of RSTs instrumentation and software.
  • Ensure all documentation is aligned with technical specifications and adheres to the RST style guides and technical documentation best practices.

Qualification and Skills:
