Service Director

As RST’s Service Director, you will join a team comprised of accomplished and highly respected Mining, Engineering and Operations professionals.  You will have full leadership and management responsibilities for our Services Division – Customer Service and Field Service teams. The Service Division is responsible for the technical quality of RST’s geotechnical and civil instrument installations globally. Members of this team are customer focused, team oriented, organized, detail oriented, entrepreneurial, technically competent and self-starters.

You will provide leadership and direction in the implementation of systems: process, methods & tools, and strategies to enable efficient and effective customer service.  You will build, train and mentor a highly versatile full-service Level 1, 2 and 3 Service team. Occasional travel will be required.

Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and management of the Customer Service Department with full P&L responsibility, including:
    • Field Service (site’s supervision, installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting/repair)
    • Customer Support (call center, level 1, 2 and 3 technical support and troubleshooting, RMA)
    • Strategic and executable growth plan
  • Leadership towards the implementation of systems, infrastructure (process, methods & tools) and strategies to enable first-class customer service with global coverage and 24/7 operation which includes:
    • Technical Support Call Center
    • Ticketing/dispatch/scheduling system
    • Service Network Operating Center (NOC)
    • Field service (site supervising/troubleshooting, installation and commissioning)
    • Authorized Service Center(s) development, qualification and agreement
  • Leadership towards the staffing, training and mentoring of Customer Support Team as well as a highly versatile Field Service team that can be mobilized towards large or small field service jobs, level 2 customer support or other product-level tasks (e.g. testing).
  • Leadership towards the management of customer relationships and contract negotiations regarding core service opportunities (e.g. Site-C).
  • Leadership towards building and growing the service business by analyzing competitive data, market trends and customer’s needs.
  • Working directly with the sales and cross-functional teams to resolve customer complaints quickly and effectively.
  • Tracking and reporting customer’s issues and/or trends to identify opportunities and drive improvements.
  • Leadership and development of all service staff.
  • People management of all service staff (direct or via level 1 managers)
  • The leadership of strategic team initiatives.
  • Implementation of KPI metrics in support of continuous improvement.
  • Regular reporting on team accomplishments and performance.


Qualification and Skills:

  • Bachelor degree in Geotechnical, Software, Computer, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an a Canadian accredited institution or international institution equivalent
  • P.Eng or P.Geo or eligible to register is an asset
  • Master Degree in Business Administration is an asset
  • Over five years of experience in a leadership capacity in Customer Service
  • Full Customer Service & Support Life Cycle for OEM products as well as SaaS
  • Geotechnical and/or construction fieldwork

Logistic Coordinator

As our Logistic Coordinator, you will join a team of dedicated individuals within our supply chain team.   You will work closely with team members to ensure all logistic activities are completed on time and to the highest quality standards. You are knowledgeable in Logistics Requirements and Process Improvement. Your work habits emphasize safety, for yourself and your co-workers, commitment to quality and to our Customer relationships (both internal and external.)

Responsibilities:

  • Receipt, reconciliation, and put-away of inbound inventory / shipments.
  • Picklist coordination, packaging – boxing and crating (may require building of wooden crates for large or heavy products) and shipment of outbound orders / inventory.
  • Logging and tracking all shipments / receipts in company system.
  • Ensuring all processes are adhered to; documenting new processes when required.
  • Working closely with Operations to ensure related service and customer goals and project timelines are met.
  • Providing exceptional customer service to our clients (internal/external).
  • Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-shift inspections.
  • Keeps the warehouse and production work areas organized and tidy and implement general safety and housekeeping practices.
  • Other tasks and duties as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • High school diploma/GED required
  • You will have excellent organization, scheduling and time management skills
  • You excel with analyzing information and dealing with complexity
  • You are deadline-oriented and have strong attention to detail
  • Experience in forklift, pallet jack and overhead crane operation (valid certification preferred but training can be provided)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand/walk continuously and perform physical tasks
  • Data entry skills, and basic computer software, such as MS Word, Excel, etc.
  • Basic math abilities
  • Good written and oral communication skills

Pipe Technician (hire for tempary 2 positions)

Our Pipe Technicians are responsible for manufacturing PVC or ABS casing, and accessories. Your duties include production, quality control, packaging, and workplace maintenance. You will be producing quality parts while developing a strong and positive production team. You will be expected to contribute ideas/input towards the growth of the company. You will coordinate with other members of the team to fulfill orders in a timely manner and will organize material and orders to increase efficiency within the department.

Responsibilities:

  • Operating CNC lathes, and custom machinery to produce casing/accessories
  • Manually assembly of products or sub-items
  • Physical inventory and stock counting
  • Producing quality parts
  • Contribute ideas/input towards the growth of the company
  • Coordinating with other members of the team to fulfill orders in a timely manner
  • Organizing material and orders to increase efficiency within the department
  • Efficiency planning, setup, safety checks, operation, maintenance, programming
  • Gluing plastic sub-assemblies, hand drilling/riveting, inspecting, placing caps/covers on parts, installing o rings inside grooves
  • Checking parts with samples, gauges, and measuring equipment
  • Accurate counting and planning relevant to current and other orders
  • Organization while in production stages
  • Cleaning work area after use
  • Maintenance of equipment and deparmtnet
  • Watching physical levels of usable goods, and sellable goods. Working with team and managers to maintain accuracy of stock
  • Reporting unsafe conditions and give input on issues and improvement

Technical Writer (independent contractor)

As the Technical Writer on the Product Management Team, you will draft and deliver all documentation for internal and external customers. We are looking to build out our team by adding an outstanding communicator, adept at building and delivering powerful content that supports our mission to provide an exceptional customer experience. Our internal customers include Marketing, Sales and Customer Support. RST’s external customers range from small integrators to Fortune 500 industrial organizations, and are characterized by all degrees of sophistication and expertise. A key to your success will be your ability to collaborate with all stakeholders to produce a full range of product knowledge assets in a variety of media formats, and in multiple venues.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct discovery sessions, integrating technical and non-technical information from different teams.
  • Build end user documentation for the purposes of installation, setup, configuration and trouble shooting of RSTs instrumentation and software.
  • Ensure all documentation is aligned with technical specifications and adheres to the RST style guides and technical documentation best practices.
  • Provide leadership and vision to the Product Management team with the overarching goal of enabling RST’s documentation to serve as a source of competitive advantage.
  • Ensure alignment with RST’s documentation and knowledge asset framework and Identify process improvements related to documentation.

Qualification and Skills:

  • Minimum of BA/BSc. In a technical field and/or technical communications.
  • 2-3 years experience in technical writing.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated success building content for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Multiple successful documentation rollouts spanning complex product offerings comprised of both software and hardware.
  • Demonstrated experience in both graphic and video graphic content creation with exposure to multiple platforms that include Adobe RoboHelp, FrameMaker, OxygenXML Editor, and MadCap Flare.
  • Experience with product development cycles and new product launches.
  • Strong self-starter with near-obsessive initiative.
  • Well-versed in all digital communication formats with a keen passion for UX/UI best practices.
