Sales Administrator (Based in Stowmarket, Suffolk, United Kingdom)

To assist the UK team with day-to-day tasks and data entry to our ERP system, liaising with relevant members of our Canadian based Head Quarters where appropriate.

Responsibilities:

  • Organizing of shipping/customs documentation, including export declarations for HMRC
  • Packing of small–medium-sized parcels for deliveries
  • Booking deliveries/collections with couriers
  • Liaising with our Canada office for shipping times, dates, prices
  • Answering the switchboard telephone for the office

Field Geotechnical Engineer – Remote (Site C)

As Field Service Engineer – Remote, reporting to our Field Services Manager, you will have responsibilities within RST’s Field Services department for a specific remote project site. You will provide support to our customers in Northern British Columbia at a large-scale civil construction project. Our Field Service group is responsible for the technical quality and accuracy of RST’s geotechnical and civil instrument installations designed to monitor the long-term performance of a new hydroelectric dam structure. As a key member of this team, you must be customer focused, team oriented, organized, detail oriented, entrepreneurial, technically competent, and a self-starter. This role is Fly-In/Fly-Out – 15 days in/6 days out.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical supervision for the installation of geotechnical and civil instruments in drillholes, excavations and civil structures, specifically: vibrating wire and pneumatic piezometers, extensometers, inclinometers, ShapeAccelArrays (SAAs), settlement cells/plates, survey markers/monuments, temperature sensing cables, cable trenches, etc.
  • Provide technical supervision of drilling, excavation and other construction activities related to the installation, monitoring, and maintenance of geotechnical and civil instrumentation.
  • Prepare detailed documentation of the completed work, including installation reports, commissioning records, and as-built drawings.
  • Preparation of installation procedures and execution plans for the installation of geotechnical instruments to monitor geotechnical conditions of surface and underground facilities.
  • Carry out function testing of geotechnical instruments and data acquisition equipment prior to field deployment.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

  • Geological, Geotechnical, Civil, or Mining Engineering degree from an accredited Canadian institution or international equivalent.
  • Registered and in good standing with EGBC.
  • Minimum 2 – 5 years’ experience in heavy civil and/or mining construction environment.
  • Minimum 2 – 5 years’ experience conducting geotechnical site investigations, with a strong background in geotechnical instrumentation such as piezometers, inclinometers, thermistors, extensometers, ShapeAccelArrays (SAAs), etc.
  • Strong safety management experience.
  • Customer focused with superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organized, attentive to detail, strong work ethic, and well-developed problem-solving skills.
  • Hold a valid Class 5 driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Willing and able to work in remote location.
  • Willing and able to work outdoors for extended periods of time in extreme weather conditions.

Technical Support Specialist (Based in Stowmarket, Suffolk, United Kingdom)

As a Technical Support Specialist, your primary responsibility is to provide prompt technical support for all RST Instruments products. As a key member of our team in the UK you are Customer Focused, Detail Oriented, Organized, Entrepreneurial, Technically Competent and a Self-Starter. From time-to-time you will also be required to travel to customer’s sites for Field Service work that includes but not limited to: supervising equipment installation, some actual installation, commissioning, troubleshooting and maintenance.

Responsibilities:

  • Respond to Customer emails and phone calls pertaining to technical support for all RST Instruments supplied geotechnical instruments.
  • Liaise directly with customers, trouble shoot and provide resolutions to their technical problems in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain continual communication with management and work cohesively with sales, production, engineering and quality team members across the organization.
  • Conduct pre-installation testing of geotechnical instruments and instrumentation equipment.
  • Provide over the phone technical supervision during installation of geotechnical engineering instrumentation specifically: piezometers, extensometers, inclinometers, load cells, wiring etc.
  • Install, configure and service datalogger equipment and network infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning and/or damaged instruments.
  • Carry out data checks, data reductions, data interpretations and trouble-shooting of data from various geotechnical and civil instruments.
  • Travel to customer sites to:
    • Install, configure and service data logging and networking equipment.
    • Supervise and/or install geotechnical instruments and sensors.
    • Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning and/or damaged systems.
  • Analyze sensor data.
  • Create site data visualization projects in RST’s Geoviewer software.
  • Respond to customer support inquiries by phone and email.
  • Create technical reports such as documentation of progress/completed work.
  • Assist other teams with technical inquiries, testing, assembly, and equipment troubleshooting

Qualifications and Skills

  • B.Eng in either Geotechnical, Electronic, Electrical, Mining, Civil from an accredited EU Institution or International Equivalent.
  • P.Eng/EIT or eligible to register with EGBC is an asset.
  • 3 years of experience in instrumentation, telemetry, electronics, communications, or other similar disciplines.
  • 1-3 years experience with geotechnical and civil instrumentation, including piezometers, extensometers, inclinometers, load cells, dataloggers, etc.
  • Electronics, programming and networking experience will be a major assets.
  • Customer focused with superior written and verbal communication skills.

Project Manager

Manage an IIoT and connectivity platform solution project, including data logger, gateways, field utility app, data management and data visualization, to deliver geotechnical data from the ground to customer finger tips.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaison between project owner (end client), main contractor, subcontractor and all parties involved to:
  • Define project scope of deliveries, costs and times
  • Work closely with Commercial Manager to price the project accordingly
  • Manage customer’s expectations and relationship with main contractor and subcontractors
  • Manage project resources, deliverables, budgets and times both internally and external subcontractors
  • Manage Change Requests and Change Orders
  • Provide regular updates to senior leadership team on project status, risks and mitigations

Qualification and Skills:

Assembly Worker (Pipe Department)

Our Pipe Technicians are responsible for manufacturing PVC or ABS casing, and accessories. Your duties include production, quality control, packaging, and workplace maintenance. You will be producing quality parts while developing a strong and positive production team. You will be expected to contribute ideas/input towards the growth of the company. You will coordinate with other members of the team to fulfill orders in a timely manner and will organize material and orders to increase efficiency within the department.

Responsibilities:

  • Operating CNC lathes, and custom machinery to produce casing/accessories
  • Manually assembly of products or sub-items
  • Physical inventory and stock counting
  • Producing quality parts
  • Contribute ideas/input towards the growth of the company
  • Coordinating with other members of the team to fulfill orders in a timely manner
  • Organizing material and orders to increase efficiency within the department
  • Efficiency planning, setup, safety checks, operation, maintenance, programming

Inventory Analyst

As our Inventory Analyst, you will join a team of dedicated individuals within our manufacturing operation.   You will work closely with team members to ensure all warehouse/inventory activities are completed on time and to the highest quality standards. You are knowledgeable in Process Improvement and Inventory Control. Your work habits emphasize safety for yourself and your co-workers. You will also provide support to other roles within the warehouse as required. This position may also require overtime as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily inventory cycle count processes to ensure accuracy and timely execution.
  • Schedule categories for daily cycle count and maintain strict records.
  • Oversee and evaluate stock rotation procedures.
  • Maintain adequate storage for warehouse and on-site inventory.
  • Maintain and evaluate inventory records on a monthly basis.
  • Create an efficient space utilization plan.
  • Notify management of shortages or other problems that could impact product availability.
  • Instruct warehouse staff on proper procedures for locating and utilizing product inventory.
  • Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-shift inspections.
  • Keeps the warehouse and production work areas organized and tidy and implement general housekeeping practices to maintain workplace cleanliness.
  • Assists the production teams in working the work orders as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • High school diploma/GED required
  • 2+ years experience in inventory management, warehousing, material handling or related field

Electronics Production Lead Hand

As the Electronics Lead Hand, you will liaise between the Production Manager and team members to achieve Safety, Quality, OTD, and Cost targets. You will be a proactive leader with electronics experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and oversee work across production staff on assigned production areas.
  • Liaise between Production Manager and team members to achieve Safety, Quality, OTD and Cost targets.
  • Act as a go-to person to assist team members with respect to priority, scheduling and technical concerns during shift
  • Identify and communicate safety or time concerns due to equipment, process, material or personnel.
  • Keep track of materials and inventory needs/consumptions in both physical and ERP system
  • Keep track of production efficiencies in designated areas.
  • Ownership and maintenance of 5S and established lean manufacturing practices.

Controller / Director of Finance

As RST’s Controller/ Director of Finance, you will work together with and manage a staff of 1 direct report (Assistant Controller) and 2-3 indirect reports. You will report to and work closely with the CFO to improve the finance and accounting process at RST. You will Identify and opportunities for improvement in reporting, collections, payment cycles, payroll, etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage financial statements preparation and reporting of RST Instruments.
  • Assist with consolidated financial statements for the group.
  • Manage a staff of 1 direct report (Assistant Controller) and 2-3 indirect reports.
  • Work with the CFO to improve the finance and accounting function
  • Identify and opportunities for improvement in reporting, collections, payment cycles, payroll, etc.
  • Assist with leading, coaching and developing the accounting and finance team.
  • Document processes and controls and roles and responsibilities of the finance function not currently under the Assistant Controller responsibility (including intersections with other departments); improve as necessary.
  • Review the monthly close process with an eye for streamlining.
  • Manage monthly / quarterly / annual financial statement reporting.
  • Ensure reporting has a high level of accuracy.
  • Improve the monthly reporting package, to ensure the CFO / CEO and investors have all the information they need in an efficient reporting package.
  • Assist with Integration of 3vG and any future add-ons as it relates to financial reporting.
  • Assist with developing and reporting financial KPI’s.
  • Assist in preparation of annual budgets.
  • ERP – Assist with implementation of Epicor Multi-Company ERP.
  • ERP Report Writing – Assist with writing reports using XL Connect Excel Add-in and BAQ functionality in Epicor.
  • Inventory / Costing – Work with Director of FP&A and Business Improvement and Cost Accountant Reporting and Costing improvements
  • Assist with global audit including creating and maintaining schedules, improving reporting consistency across the group of companies, converting local reporting to IFRS and managing/improvement consolidation process.
  • Assist with manage NRC/IRAP claims reporting and SRED.
  • Assist with annual audit process, in coordination with the CFO
  • Manage compliance filings, as requested.
  • Backup CFO where needed.
  • Other duties as requested.

Qualification and Skills:

  • CPA (CGA, CA) designation with a minimum 5-7 years’ experience in a Controller or similar role
  • Experience with IFRS
  • Experience with Epicor ERP considered an asset, with ERP experience highly desired
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated leadership background with the ability drive change
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment using standard costing
  • Experience in Construction or project accounting using percentage of completion revenue/cost recognition considered an asset
