The RockMonitor XR (telltale) tracks strata movement throughout mines in real-time, providing information to central control areas and giving advance warning of excessive displacement. It responds early to prevent stoppages due to excessive strata movement, and in the worst case scenario where rockfall cannot be prevented, to facilitate the early evacuation of mine personnel and equipment.
The RockMonitor XR significantly improve bolting strategies by analysing detailed rate-of-movement graphs to determine the optimum amount of protection. An independent study showed a 49% cost reduction in standing supports through increased spacing with the Trolex telltale system deployed.

I’m very happy with the quality of the instrumentation and technical support from RST, as always. They worked with us from the initial stages of the project to ensure that we were fully prepared and equipped to use the RSTAR network for the first time. They delivered everything within the tight project time frame to ensure that there were no delays on site, and the submersible tilt meters looked like new even after over twelve months of being submerged in Thames water!
