Load Cells

Load cells are used to record and measure the force of compressive and tensile loads in various industrial applications. Each individual load cell contains multiple strain gauges that boost instrument sensitivity and make it possible to obtain accurate, reliable readings even under unbalanced or eccentric loading conditions.

Learn More about Load Cells

The applications for load cells include measuring and monitoring the loads of ground anchors, struts, tie backs and rock bolts, and the testing of load bearing capacity of piles in building foundations. They are an integral load measurement tool in concrete dams and other mass concrete structures.

RST’s Vibrating Wire Load Cells contain three to six vibrating wire sensors depending on their load range. These versatile and long-lasting cells are tolerant of extreme temperatures and unbalanced loads. Both the Strain Gauge Load Cell and Vibrating Wire Load Cell are available in both a solid and annular design and can be customized according to your project needs.

Data from Load Cells can be collected using the DT2350 Load Cell Data Logger and the Vibrating Wire DT loggers, which are fully compatible with RST data loggers including the DT series, DT Link Wireless series, or the RSTAR Array Radio Network.

I’m very happy with the quality of the instrumentation and technical support from RST, as always. They worked with us from the initial stages of the project to ensure that we were fully prepared and equipped to use the RSTAR network for the first time. They delivered everything within the tight project time frame to ensure that there were no delays on site, and the submersible tilt meters looked like new even after over twelve months of being submerged in Thames water!
