Overview

The Solinst Model 101 P7 Water Level Meter is a high-performance, field-ready instrument designed for precise measurement of depth of water in wells, boreholes, standpipes, tanks, and more. Featuring a pressure-proof stainless-steel P7 probe rated to 500 psi and submersible to 300 m (1,000 ft), it delivers accurate total-depth readings with virtually zero displacement, due to its tip-located sensor—making it reliable even in cascading or turbulent water. Its rugged PVDF flat tape is laser-etched every 0.01 ft (mm), reinforced with 19 strands of steel, and shaped in a “dog-bone” profile to prevent sticking and resist corrosion. The markings are traceable to NIST/EU standards for compliance-grade accuracy.

Powered by a simple 9 V battery and housed in an ergonomic, IP‑64 splash-resistant reel, the meter incorporates an audible buzzer and LED light that activate upon water contact. Users can easily adjust sensitivity to filter false signals in challenging conductivity conditions, take the depth reading at the tape datum, and smoothly rewind via its built-in guide and brake. Fully repairable and compatible with interchangeable tapes, this meter is engineered for longevity and on-the-spot fixes. All water-level monitoring essentials converge in this compact meter: deep‑well reach, pinpoint accuracy, rugged durability, and intuitive operation. The Solinst Model 101 P7 Water Level Meter is engineered to simplify groundwater monitoring and significantly improve field efficiency.

I’m very happy with the quality of the instrumentation and technical support from RST, as always. They worked with us from the initial stages of the project to ensure that we were fully prepared and equipped to use the RSTAR network for the first time. They delivered everything within the tight project time frame to ensure that there were no delays on site, and the submersible tilt meters looked like new even after over twelve months of being submerged in Thames water!
