RST’s 3D Vibrating Wire Crack Meter is a sophisticated instrument used for monitoring and measuring cracks in structures or geotechnical features that can deform in more than one plane.
The 3D Vibrating Wire Crack Meter is designed to provide precise and reliable data on the width and movement of cracks in three orthogonal directions (vertical, horizontal, and lateral), allowing for comprehensive analysis of crack behavior and structural integrity over time.
To obtain measurements, the 3D Crack Meter is installed by securely anchoring it to both sides of the crack. A temperature profile can also be determined using one or all of the embedded thermistors within the Crack Meter sensors.

I’m very happy with the quality of the instrumentation and technical support from RST, as always. They worked with us from the initial stages of the project to ensure that we were fully prepared and equipped to use the RSTAR network for the first time. They delivered everything within the tight project time frame to ensure that there were no delays on site, and the submersible tilt meters looked like new even after over twelve months of being submerged in Thames water!
